How can a small team create a memorable festive gathering?
Office parties don't have to be big dinners in hotels with a band or DJ. Or noisy nights out in crowded restaurants, competing with other diners for attention.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve hosted some lovely festive gatherings so how about taking inspiration from these ideas?
Small business of 12 people
A small accounting firm in central Truro arrived for early evening drinks in the lounge, swapping stories of the year with a backdrop of Scandi-inspired Christmas decorations.
They then went through to the Scandi room for a private banquet set down the middle of the table with plenty of space around to mingle and chat.
After a few more drinks & the traditional Christmas present swap, they returned to the lounge for coffee & hot chocolate by the fire.

Running Club of 25 people
A running club in Truro booked an evening at Hotel VARA for Christmas drinks & pizza. After many years of traditional turkey, crackers & Christmas pudding they wanted something a little lighter, more healthy & more intimate than the crowded bars and restaurants they usually went to.
Early evening was spent chatting with friends by the fire, enjoying a drink followed by artisan pizzas fresh from the VARA oven … crispy & delicious.

Local company of 40 people
An engineering business on the outskirts of Truro found The Scandi room at Hotel VARA ideal for their group of 40. Twinkling olive trees & Scandi decorations set the scene for the evening in a private room with plenty of space to spread out. An informal buffet with a selection of dishes for all tastes & diets was laid out on the food islands ... there was plenty for a return visit. A light-hearted review of the year was projected on the 50 inch screen, followed by an awards ceremony.
“The atmosphere was warm & friendly, & we finished the evening in the cosy lounge … several of us had booked rooms so we did not have to drive home & could enjoy one or two more drinks!”
